Job summary

Connecting Care in Peace River, Alberta, seeks a Health Care Aide (HCA) to support residents with compassionate, person-centered care, following Eden Philosophy and engaging families and care partners to promote independence and belonging.

You will document observations, assist with daily tasks, follow MAP practices, and participate in meetings, ensuring safety, dignity, and exceptional resident experience.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate from a recognized Health Care Aide program with active certification.
• CPR/BLS certification preferred.
• Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector.
• English reading/writing/speaking fluently.

Responsibilities

• Provide documentation of involvement or observations in incidents, safety concerns, regulatory reporting, and care notes.
• Complete daily documentation in charts and health records to ensure quality and compliance.
• Maintain resident supply levels and coordinate timely replenishment.
• Provide medication assistance following MAP practices and rights.
• Identify health, safety or maintenance issues and report.
• Follow infection prevention and control practices.
• Build relationships with residents, families, visitors, and care partners.
• Follow safe practices with lifts, transfer belts, sharps, chemicals, and equipment.
• Seek guidance from LPN or designate for new tasks to ensure safety.
• Complete mandatory education annually per provincial regulations.
• Participate in EmployeeCarePartner meetings and huddles to share feedback.
• Assist with non-clinical tasks like laundry and resident event support.
• Respond to emergencies and document outcomes.
• Other duties as delegated by LPN or supervisor.
