Position Overview

The Aircraft Log Controller (ALO) reports to a Control Centre Supervisor and is responsible for managing aircraft logs at our location near Halifax International Airport.

What You Will Do

  1. Maintain paper and electronic aircraft logs and records according to procedures.
  2. Safeguard aircraft logs upon aircraft induction.
  3. Review logs for accuracy and completeness, and initiate necessary actions.
  4. Collect data, produce reports, and maintain documentation.
  5. Assist personnel and customers with aircraft log-related matters.
  6. Help prepare procedures for the Log Control Section.
  7. Coordinate with outside agencies for sample processing.
  8. Communicate with the Customer Log Control Section.
  9. Ensure logs are complete and accurate for customer return.
  10. Generate and release log control messages as directed.
  11. Provide on-the-job training to team members.
  12. Participate in training and development.
  13. Maintain records and detailed logs.
  14. Perform additional tasks as needed.

What You Will Bring

  1. High school diploma or GED; post-secondary aerospace education is a plus.
  2. Experience with aircraft maintenance and records is advantageous.
  3. Typing speed of at least 30 WPM.
  4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  5. Experience with JD Edwards or similar systems is a strong asset.
  6. Knowledge of ADAM system is highly desirable.
  7. Ability to learn new software and technical terms.
  8. Strong organizational and time management skills.
  9. Attention to detail and accuracy.
  10. Effective communication skills.
  11. Teamwork orientation.
  12. Understanding of maintenance impact on aircraft airworthiness.
  13. Commitment to health, safety, and environmental policies.
  14. Successful completion of an aptitude test.
  15. Eligibility for Canadian Controlled Goods Program, Secret Level II Security Clearance, and Transport Canada RAIC clearance.
