The Aircraft Log Controller (ALO) reports directly to a Control Centre Supervisor and is based near Halifax International Airport.

  1. Maintain paper and digital aircraft logs, records, and customer reporting systems according to established procedures.
  2. Safeguard aircraft logs upon aircraft induction.
  3. Review logs for accuracy and completeness; initiate actions on expired equipment, modifications, inspections, and instructions.
  4. Collect data, prepare reports, and maintain documentation.
  5. Assist personnel and customers with aircraft log-related matters.
  6. Help develop procedures and directives for the Log Control Section.
  7. Coordinate with outside agencies for processing samples and other documentation.
  8. Liaise with the Customer Log Control Section regarding aircraft logs/records.
  9. Ensure logs are complete and accurate before returning to customers.
  10. Generate and release log control responses as directed.
  11. Provide training and mentorship to other team members.
  12. Participate in training for skill or personal development.
  13. Handle filing, record keeping, and detailed log entries.
  14. Perform additional tasks as required.
What You Will Bring:
  • High school diploma or GED; post-secondary education related to aerospace is a plus.
  • Experience with aircraft maintenance and technical records is advantageous.
  • Typing speed of at least 30 WPM.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with JD Edwards or similar enterprise systems is a plus.
  • Knowledge of the ADAM system is highly desirable.
  • Ability to learn new software and technical terminology.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and critical thinking skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Teamwork-oriented mindset.
  • Understanding of maintenance impact on aircraft and customer safety.
  • Commitment to health, safety, and environmental policies.
  • Successful completion of an IMP aptitude test.
  • Eligibility for Canadian Controlled Goods Program, Secret Level II Security Clearance, and Transport Canada RAIC clearance.
