Job Description

Working as part of multidisciplinary teams, the Engineer and Geotechnical Project Manager will provide expert advice in geotechnics, rock mechanics, and material control for design or construction projects of various types and complexities. Projects may involve the design, rehabilitation, or construction of buildings, roads, engineering structures, hydraulic and earthwork structures, slope stability, soil dynamics, temporary and permanent retaining structures, deep and conventional foundations, mainly in Quebec and across Canada.

Primary Responsibilities
  1. Perform complete geotechnical studies, from planning to report drafting, including boring, drilling, laboratory tests, and design recommendations.
  2. Inspect, assess safety, and upgrade concrete and earth dams.
  3. Participate in studies involving tunnels and rock wall stability, including discontinuity surveys and slip plane detection using drones.
  4. Coordinate studies, engineering work, field activities, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  5. Prepare bid documents in response to tenders.
  6. Assist in preparing drawings and specifications for earthfill, slope stabilization, and bank protection structures, supported by experienced draftspersons.
  7. Supervise, train, and mentor CEPs and interns.
Qualifications
  1. University degree in civil or geological engineering with a specialization in geotechnics.
  2. Minimum of seven years of experience in geotechnics.
  3. Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
  4. Knowledge of software for slope stability, drainage, and finite element analysis.
  5. Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams comprising geotechnical, geological engineers, and environmental specialists.
  6. Proficiency in French and English to communicate with diverse stakeholders.
  7. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  8. Project management skills to monitor projects and ensure adherence to budgets and schedules.
  9. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
