As part of multidisciplinary teams, the Engineer and Geotechnical Project Manager will provide expert advice in geotechnics, rock mechanics, and material control for various design and construction projects. These include buildings, roads, hydraulic and earthwork structures, slope stability, soil dynamics, retaining structures, and foundations, mainly in Quebec and across Canada.

We offer a hybrid work model, allowing work from home and office.

Note: This is a candidate pool; application review is ongoing, and contact will be made as appropriate.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Conduct geotechnical studies from planning through report drafting, including field investigations and laboratory tests.
  • Inspect and assess the safety of concrete and earth dams, recommending upgrades as needed.
  • Participate in tunnel and rock wall stability studies, including surveys and slip plane analysis using drones.
  • Coordinate studies, fieldwork, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Prepare bid documents for tenders.
  • Assist in preparing drawings and specifications for earthfill, slope stabilization, and bank protection structures, supported by experienced draftspersons.
  • Supervise, train, and coach CEPs and interns.

Profile

  • University degree in civil or geological engineering with a specialization in geotechnics.
  • Minimum of seven years' experience in geotechnics.
  • Knowledge of slope stability, drainage, and finite element analysis software.
  • Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams with geotechnical and environmental specialists.
  • Proficiency in French and English for effective communication with stakeholders nationwide.
  • Strong communication and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
