About The Opportunity

The Pharmacy Sterile Operations Supervisor ensures a safe and efficient drug distribution system, supervises Pharmacy Practice Assistants and students, and participates in quality improvement processes. Responsibilities include monitoring product acquisition, managing drug shortages, developing policies, resolving technical issues, and maintaining budgets.

About You

We are looking for candidates with:

  • Grade 12 and completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician/Technology Program
  • Licensure in Nova Scotia as a Pharmacy Technician (NSCP)
  • At least 3 years of hospital experience
  • Supervisory experience (asset)
  • Knowledge of sterile techniques and chemotherapy precautions (asset)
  • Experience with unit dose systems, automation, and decentralized dispensing (asset)
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, inventory control, and record keeping
  • Ability to perform medication calculations
  • Understanding of laws and regulations related to drugs
  • Basic computer skills (MS Office, Excel)
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Leadership, planning, evaluative, and fiscal management skills
  • Knowledge of healthcare issues and collective agreements
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license for site travel
  • Additional language skills (French preferred)

Hours
  • Permanent, 100% FTE, 75 hours bi-weekly
  • Monday - Friday, 8AM - 4PM
Compensation and Benefits

Hourly rate: $25.63 - $32.24. Benefits include health, dental, travel, long-term disability, life insurance, and a pension plan.
