Job description

Job Summary

Reporting to the site Administrative Officer(s) and the District Principal of Careers, this position collaborates with classroom teachers and administrative staff to provide services to students.

  • Successful applicants must reside in the Lower Mainland to meet in person weekly at local schools.
  • Duties commence: June 1, 2025
  • Hours: 7 hours/day, 5 days/week
  • Work Year: 11 months
  • Salary Range: $57,381.52 - $71,716.44
Job Duties
  • Support delivery of career-based programs including Work Experience 12A & 12B, Youth Work in Trades 11A & 11B & 12A & 12B, World Citizenship 12, Global Intercultural Studies 12, and ConnectEd.
  • Act as liaison between instructional and administrative staff at partner schools and district offices.
  • Supervise clerical staff supporting the Independent School Program.
  • Maintain strong relationships with partner schools and implement new programs.
  • Promote career pathways at schools and community events.
  • Manage student registration and documentation processes.
  • Maintain and update student records in the Digital Data Management System (DDMS) and program databases.
  • Assist teachers with student progress data collection.
  • Use positive communication and intervention techniques to support student and partner success.
  • Coordinate travel for program support.
  • Oversee remote office operations, client relationships, and marketing.
  • Participate in workshops and stay current with policies and audit requirements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2-year diploma in Business, Marketing, or related field.
  • Valid Class 5 B.C. driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
  • Clean Driver’s Abstract.
  • Knowledge of secondary classroom instruction and experience with career programs preferred.
  • Familiarity with digital file management, databases (FileMaker, Skilled Trades BC), BrightSpace LMS, and GSuite/Office tools.
  • Strong organizational skills for managing student records.
  • Ability to work independently, set priorities, and handle difficult conversations professionally.
  • WHMIS and online safety training to be completed within probation.
  • Must pass a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Records Search.
  • Proof of education required prior to employment.
