We’re looking for a Controller to take the financial helm — overseeing everything from budgeting and forecasting to reporting and team leadership. This role isn't just about keeping the books in order — it's about being a strategic partner who helps steer the business forward.

You’ll report directly to the President and play a key role in shaping data-driven decisions across multiple entities. If you thrive in a dynamic environment where tradition meets innovation, this might just be your next big move.

Advantages
  • RRSP match
  • Extended health, dental, and vision care
  • Life insurance
  • Paid time off
  • On-site parking
Responsibilities
  • Prepare and present accurate financial statements — balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
  • Build, manage, and track budgets aligned with company goals. Use forecasting tools to guide strategic planning.
  • Monitor materials, labor, and overhead costs to maximize efficiency and profitability.
  • Ensure the business stays cash-positive and investment-ready.
  • Identify trends, variances, and opportunities through in-depth financial review and analytics.
  • Keep the company in good standing with financial regulations and accounting standards across jurisdictions.
  • Lead the charge during internal and external audits with complete documentation and responsiveness.
  • Supervise accounts payable and receivable to keep transactions flowing smoothly.
  • Guide and grow a team of finance professionals with a focus on mentorship and performance.
Qualifications
  • You bring 5–10 years of experience that blends public accounting with in-house industry knowledge, ideally in construction or a similar field.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or economics, along with a CPA or another recognized designation (CFA, CFP, CIM).
  • You've led accounting teams for at least 5 years, with a proven track record of developing talent and driving results.
  • Bilingual in French and English — a must for navigating the business landscape in both Ontario and Quebec.
  • You have deep knowledge of GAAP and understand federal / provincial compliance for both Ontario and Quebec.
