Job Family Group :

12 Month Contract role

Monitors, analyzes, and reports on the quality of appraisals for a designated lending portfolio. Examines individual appraisals and aggregate portfolio information to provide insights on decision accuracy and consistency relative to risk strategies, policies, and appetite. Identifies deficiencies and recommends corrective actions. Supports the implementation, maintenance, and sustainment of vendor appraisal services used by BMO.

  1. Develops solutions and makes recommendations based on understanding of business strategy and stakeholder needs.
  2. Supports strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  3. Helps determine business priorities and execution sequence for strategies.
  4. Conducts independent analysis and assessment to resolve strategic issues.
  5. Defines communication plans to positively influence or change behavior; develops messaging and identifies channels.
  6. Executes oversight and governance activities.
  7. Maintains, monitors, measures, and reports on governance programs to stakeholders.
  8. Examines appraisals for adherence to policies, procedures, and standards.
  9. Assesses credibility and reasonableness of appraisal values.
  10. Documents review results and recommends action plans.
  11. Identifies and escalates corrective actions for issues like incomplete investigations or potential fraud.
  12. Reviews third-party vendor applications against standards.
  13. Consults with stakeholders to improve risk measurement, metrics, and reporting.
  14. Builds relationships with stakeholders.
  15. Integrates information for efficient processes and reporting.
  16. Monitors performance and addresses issues.
  17. Produces reports and dashboards.
  18. Analyzes data to provide insights and recommendations.
  19. Identifies needs, designs tools and training, and may deliver training.
  20. Supports development and promotion of business programs.
  21. Ensures timely, accurate, and quality work.
  22. Focuses primarily on BMO business units but may have enterprise-wide scope.
  23. Uses judgment to solve problems within rules.
  24. Works independently on complex tasks, including unique situations.

Qualifications :

  • Typically 4-6 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of appraisal standards for the jurisdiction/portfolio.
  • Understanding of risk policy frameworks and quality control/testing frameworks.
  • Technical proficiency from education or experience.
  • Strong collaboration, analytical, problem-solving, and influence skills.

Salary : $60,000 - $111,700
