Job Description:
Under the direction of the Chair, Police and Public Safety, the incumbent is responsible for the overall operation and maintenance of health and safety standards, laboratory equipment, and associated software programs in the Paramedic program. The incumbent:
Provides oversight for all laboratory supplies and equipment
Maintains laboratory schedules
Sets up and tears down laboratory sessions
Orients professors in usage of laboratory equipment.
Collaborates with professors in simulation-based learning activities
Supports technical instruction to students
Maintains equipment inventory
Required Qualifications:
Minimum two (2) year Primary Care Paramedic diploma; a diploma in a related healthcare field, such as nursing, may be considered
CPR, WHMIS, and First Aid must be current throughout tenure
Must be familiar with Ministry of Health Provincial Equipment standards for Ontario Ambulance service
Minimum five (5) years experience as a PCP in an acute care facility , which preferably includes oversight of equipment maintenance and repairs, software applications in a laboratory setting and inventory monitoring and simulation based learning
A combination of minimum five (5) years experience in a healthcare field and demonstrated knowledge of paramedicine and paramedic equipment may be considered
Anticipated Weekly Schedule:
Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 5 hours per day with additional 3 hours remote
*Hours are flexible as per program needs and will be discussed during interview phase
