Education Support Worker - Special Education in Naughton, ON, supports students with IEPs and IPRC recommendations, liaises with families and advocates for services from local school boards, while aiding student success strategies and tutoring where needed.

Qualifications

• A diploma in Early Childhood Education, Child and Youth Worker or Social Services
• Valid Ontario Class 'G' Driver's License with clean driving abstract
• Criminal Reference Check and Vulnerable Sector Check annually and at time of offer
• First Aid and CPR with AED Certification

Responsibilities

• Attend IEP and IPRC meetings with parents to hear and understand the recommendations of assessments
• Advocate to ensure special needs of students are met and resources are available
• Visit elementary and secondary schools attended by our students on a weekly basis in a schedule developed with school officials
• Initiates and/or prepares project proposals and maintains an updated project filing system
