The Opportunity

We are recruiting a casual/hourly Ed-Lab Tech I - Student Worker position, reporting to the Academic Chair. This role involves providing maintenance and service support to various programs, including Welding, Machinist, and Millwright, with potential support to other departments.

Responsibilities
  1. Stock consumables and prepare materials.
  2. Process metal coupons for labs.
  3. Assist with maintenance and repairs of equipment to OEM standards.
  4. Prepare demonstration equipment and provide technical support.
  5. Maintain tools and inventory.
  6. Follow safety regulations and standards.
  7. Assist in fabricating training aids and setting up labs.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Skills, & Experience
  1. Currently enrolled as a domestic student in SAIT's Welding and Fabrication Technology or Machining Technology Diploma, participating in Work Integrated Learning Co-Op.
  2. Minimum High School Diploma required.
  3. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  4. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  5. Fluent in English reading and vocabulary.
  6. Mechanical aptitude and supervisory ability.
  7. Class 5 license with abstract.
  8. Ability to lift 20 kg safely, and perform extended walking and bending.
  9. Willingness to undergo safety and first aid training.
  10. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
