Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Biologist Intern/Co-op to join our Ecological Services team in Markham, ON or Waterloo, ON for a 4- or 8-month co‑op term or PEY beginning in January 2027. This role provides an excellent opportunity for hands‑on experience supporting ecological assessments, environmental permitting, and field‑based data collection projects.

You will assist with terrestrial and aquatic field surveys, collect data using GPS and field apps, and help prepare technical reports under supervision.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Ecology, or related field.
• Interest in terrestrial and aquatic ecology and environmental consulting.
• Willingness to conduct fieldwork, including hiking and outdoor work.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with terrestrial and aquatic field surveys and habitat assessments.
• Supporting data collection using GPS equipment and field applications.
• Conducting literature reviews and background studies for environmental assessments.
• Preparing technical reports, field summaries, maps and documentation.
• Supporting permitting activities under guidance of senior staff.
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary team on projects and travel to sites as needed.
