Job summary

Western Community College in British Columbia invites applications for an Instructor – Early Childhood Educator Assistant Program to teach at the Maple Ridge campus. This fixed-term contract covers the ECEA program and requires in-person delivery.

You will lead scheduled classes, assess assignments, post grades promptly, collaborate with faculty and administration, and help revise syllabi and handbooks. Start date November 6, 2026, with end date May 14, 2027; Friday classes 8:30am–4:00pm.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Early Childhood Education or Education Assistant required.
• Minimum two years of full-time work experience in an Early Childhood setting or ten years in the field.
• Experience teaching post-secondary or certificate programs is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Teach within the ECEA courses as scheduled.
• Assess all assignments and post grades promptly on the College database.
• Collaborate with faculty and administration as needed.
• Review and revise syllabi based on feedback from instructors, students, and the Program Coordinator.
• Assist with course revisions, including rubrics, textbooks, and materials.
• Advise potential ECEA students on enrollment requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned by program leadership.
