INSURANCE AND SURETY ASSOCIATE - Job 9731

(Hybrid in Office)

If you are looking to build a career specializing in construction insurance, you can join a team that covers pre-construction, construction, and post-construction services, working collaboratively across disciplines.

Position Overview:

  • Manage daily insurance and surety service needs, working closely with Construction Brokerage.
  • Request and prepare quotes for surety, collaborating with the Surety Broker.
  • Assign tenders and monitor daily steps.
  • Review insurance and bonding requirements on RFIs, RFPs, MSAs, and direct to brokerage.
  • Request certificates of insurance as needed.
  • Assist with project costing, quoting, and extensions in coordination with the Construction Brokerage.
  • Follow up with Project Managers for owner policies, certificates, and project completion dates to ensure bonds are active or closed.
  • Set up project files on new awards and upload insurance schedules within the company's system.

Key Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education focused on Construction or Construction Insurance.
  • At least 3 years of experience in construction or insurance related to surety.
  • Basic understanding of CCDC contracts, tenders, bonds, and construction timelines.
  • Strong initiative and follow-up skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and office equipment.
  • Willingness to work on a hybrid schedule in-office.
