INSURANCE AND SURETY ASSOCIATE - Job 9731

Our client is seeking an Insurance and Surety Associate to manage the following accountabilities:

  • Manage day-to-day servicing of the Insurance and Surety needs for the Company while working closely with Construction Brokerage
  • Request and prepare quotes for Surety collaborating with the Surety Broker
  • Assign tenders and track daily steps
  • Review Insurance and Bonding requirements on RFI’s/RFP’s/MSA’s direct to the Brokerage
  • Request Certificates of Insurance where required
  • Assist with costing, quoting of Projects and extensions in coordination with the Construction Brokerage
  • Follow up with Project Managers for copies of Owners policies/certificates and project completion dates to ensure bonds remain in force or closed out
  • Set up project file on new awards and upload Insurance schedules within the Company’s Program

Key Qualifications to help you succeed in this position would be:

  • Post Secondary Education with focus in Construction or Construction Insurance
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in the construction field and/or insurance related to surety
  • Basic understanding and experience reviewing CCDC contracts, tenders, bonds and construction project steps and timelines
  • Demonstrate strong Initiative and follow up with daily requirements
  • Understanding the importance of prompt and professional communication along with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a team member and also diligent working independently with minimum supervision
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and using office equipment
  • Willing and able to work on a hybrid schedule in office
