Overview
Reporting to the CEO and a member of the executive committee, the primary role of the Maintenance Director is to plan, organize, lead, and control all activities related to mechanical and electrical maintenance services, as well as engineering projects at the plant. The main goal is to ensure excellent internal customer service, prioritizing Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) and budget management.
Responsibilities
- Participate in setting objectives and annual plans, including strategic planning, to improve key performance indicators (KPIs) related to health, safety, environment, production, costs, and quality.
- Influence and drive change within the organization.
- Implement best maintenance management practices (e.g., reliability centered on critical equipment) and ensure their sustainability through audits.
- Ensure resource availability (workforce and materials) based on strategic and budget plans for activities such as asset maintenance, major repairs, and capital projects.
- Establish and enforce inventory management rules to optimize working capital, including turnover rates, inventory accuracy, on-time deliveries, and obsolescence.
- Promote health, safety, and good manufacturing practices.
- Actively participate in the plant's investment and improvement plans.
- Maintain standards of cleanliness and orderliness in the department.
- Guide and develop team members, periodically reviewing their performance.
- Develop and empower employees under direct supervision to reach their full potential, including implementing individual development plans.
- Implement and ensure the sustainability of plant operation strategies through audits across all plant sectors.

Qualifications
General Education
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, industrial engineering, or equivalent with experience
Experience
- 5 to 7 years in manufacturing management (maintenance, engineering, operations)
- Knowledge of the packaging sector (an asset)
- Certification in continuous improvement or equivalent experience (Green Belt or others) – an asset
