£13.36 per hour/£27,788 annually (Based on 40 Hours)

We are looking for an experienced Team Leader to join our team at Atlantic Way, based in Tavistock.

Atlantic Way Care operates across seven sites, providing 24-hour support for individuals with complex needs.

The Team Leader Role

As a Team Leader, you will promote and ensure the implementation of the company’s vision of person-centered support, maintaining individuals’ potential and independence. You will be a front-line manager, responsible for ensuring all back-office duties are completed within compliance.

The key qualities required are respect, active listening, understanding emotions, kindness, friendliness, and honesty.

  • Demonstrate company values, leading by example and ensuring safe, effective practices.
  • Provide high-quality, person-centered support aligned with organizational and regulatory standards.
  • Build trusting relationships with individuals supported, families, and professionals to deliver coordinated care.
  • Ensure care is tailored to individual needs, supporting choice and control, acting as Key Worker when appropriate.
  • Assist with medication administration and monitoring in line with policies.
  • Support individuals with budgeting and financial management for independence.
  • Conduct regular calls for designated services, acting as escalation point and providing out-of-hours advice.
  • Complete safeguarding alerts, notifications, and incident reports accurately and timely.
  • Manage support workers, including conducting reviews, monitoring training, and other HR processes.
  • Promote high-quality care and support, personal development, and employer branding.
  • Assist with staffing, training, recruitment, and resource planning.
  • Maintain quality and compliance standards, including health & safety and infection control.
Required Skills and Qualities
  • NVQ or QCF Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care or willingness to undertake.
  • Understanding of high-quality, person-centered, and non-discriminatory care practices.
  • Knowledge of care regulations and legal responsibilities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to develop effective professional relationships.
  • Experience building relationships with supported individuals, families, colleagues, and professionals.
