Job description

Systematix is currently looking for an Application Scientist (Product Development) to help our Life Sciences technologies client advance product innovation.

ABOUT THE PROJECT:

Our client is one of North America’s leading Scientific Test and Measurement organizations, with offices worldwide. Their global footprint and outstanding service have made them a trusted partner worldwide amongst scientists in drug development, food and environment testing, and clinical research. Working as an Application Scientist for our client’s Global R&D team, you will be responsible for contributing to the design and development of innovative medical device products that address complex customer analytical challenges.

ABOUT THE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Understanding and analyzing customer workflows across a wide range of application areas to support new product development.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional project teams to help define product requirements.
  • Evaluating new systems to confirm that they meet customer needs for targeted applications.
  • Applying strong communication, flexibility, creativity, and a solid foundation in experimental design and data analysis to achieve project goals in a collaborative environment.
ABOUT THE QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A university degree in a relevant scientific discipline (Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred).
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with nominal or accurate mass LC/MS workflows.
  • Experience in an R&D product development environment is a strong asset.
  • Practical experience using mass spectrometry to solve real-world problems in areas such as pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical science, food safety, or environmental testing is highly beneficial.
  • Ability to multi-task between work activities, work to challenging deadlines, and possess strong organizational skills.
ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a 6-month onsite contract role to be performed in the North Toronto area.
