Job description

Class II Clerk - MGEU

This is a full-time, 10-month term position to June 30, 2026.

Under the supervision of the PCERC Building Manager and the Education Resource Centre Administrative Assistant, the successful candidate will provide clerical support to Professional Support Services (PSS), divisional staff, and the Centre. The clerk will also support divisional professional development (PD) activities at PCERC as part of the on-site technical team. Responsibilities include:

  1. Providing clerical assistance to WSD centralized support teachers, sports convenor, Phys. Ed teacher, and French Immersion Director, including preparing reports, notices, flyers, brochures, schedules, and correspondence.
  2. Supporting work processing and desktop publishing tasks.
  3. Photocopying, collating, stapling, mailing, and distributing materials as requested.
  4. Supporting WSD Tutoring Services.
  5. Managing mail and courier deliveries, including arranging special courier services.
  6. Collaborating with the PCERC & LSS technical team to set up meeting rooms.
  7. Working with other clerical staff and WSD personnel.
  8. Covering the PCERC switchboard and providing routine information to callers.
  9. Assisting with large-scale WSD divisional events (e.g., Science Fair, PowWow, Destination Imagination).
  10. Maintaining schedules and records for loaned physical education equipment, and managing courier orders and follow-ups.
  11. Managing office supplies, including photocopier paper and laminating supplies.
  12. Calculating and billing laminating charges to schools at the beginning of each month.
  13. Performing other duties as required.

Qualifications:

  1. Completion of formal training in office skills with 1-2 years of relevant office experience and coursework.
  2. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word and Excel at an intermediate level.
  3. Typing speed of 40 WPM.
  4. Fluency in French.
  5. Experience with MAYET, Solarwinds, and divisional software is an asset.
  6. Ability to prioritize a large workload and work independently.
  7. Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
  8. Strong problem-solving skills.
  9. Ability to contribute effectively to a team.
  10. High level of confidentiality.
