Ekstera is a startup whose mission is to convert the vast amounts of underutilized heat sources into sustainable, reliable, and affordable electricity by deploying our innovative Stirling engine technology. Our technology can finally unlock the value in a wide range of heat sources that were previously untapped or wasted including industrial waste heat, biomass, biofuels, solid waste, and many more.

Are you interested in working for a rapidly growing startup company where you can have a real impact? We’re looking for a versatile and enthusiastic individual to join our team in Toronto to develop and test prototype Stirling engines for an upcoming pilot project.

Your responsibilities :

  • Design and model the prototype engine assemblies using Solidworks
  • Manufacturing, machining, and assembly of the parts for the engines
  • Running tests with the engines, and processing and analyzing the test data
  • Using computational fluid dynamics and finite element analysis to improve the designs

Your skills and experience :

  • An undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering or a closely related engineering field is preferred
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Hands-on experience, especially with machining, is valued, but not essential
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team
  • Honesty – We value openness and integrity is critical when developing new technology

Compensation will be in the form of a competitive salary and the opportunity for equity.
