Reporting to the Manager, Financial Services Operations, the Senior Finance Officer provides a full range of clerical and customer support services for accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash receiving, utilities, and taxation functions and reconciles sub-ledgers to the various asset and liability general ledger accounts. There is responsibility for handling and resolving customer inquiries and maintaining files for the department. Incumbent is required to rotate within the Finance Division as deemed necessary by the Manager. This position will assist with the coordination of the day-to-day operations and provide mentorship, review and guidance to the Finance Officers.
This position requires the incumbent to have a post-secondary diploma in accounting or a related field. Enrollment in a CPA Program or CPA Prep program is also required. In addition, a minimum of four years of practical experience in an accounting or financial environment and one year of supervisory experience is required.
The City of Yellowknife offers a starting salary of $92,039 plus a comprehensive benefits package, which includes a defined benefit pension plan, as well as housing and vacation travel allowances totaling $450 per month.
