This position is based out of our main office in Red Deer; candidates must be local or within daily travel distance of Red Deer, Alberta. Out-of-province applicants will not be considered.

Position Concept:

The Operations Manager provides management and professional support across the organization, focusing on service, planning, operational efficiency, procedure effectiveness, performance management, and organizational development. The manager coordinates activities as directed by the President/CEO and acts as a change agent to enhance organizational effectiveness. The OM exercises independent judgment and employs analytical skills, liaising effectively across all organizational levels.

Job Purpose:

The Operations Manager will improve operational systems, processes, and policies to support the organization's mission—specifically, enhancing sales, management reporting, information flow, business processes, and organizational planning. The role involves guiding internal operations to support Technical and Professional Services in delivering exceptional client service while contributing to profitability. The OM will also engage in sales activities, working with the President/CEO and Sales Manager to develop and deliver beneficial products and solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Service Team Lead Duties: Diagnose complex problems, develop recommendations, ensure policies are documented and followed, contribute to strategic planning, establish plans and budgets, assist with recruiting and training, oversee internal systems, maintain professional knowledge, develop operational best practices, identify risks.
• Sales & Marketing: Support sales team, develop solutions, enhance marketing and social media strategies, build client relationships, assist with sales presentations.
• Service Delivery: Oversee service and project delivery, review technical inputs, maintain quality standards.
• Partner/Vendor Management: Manage relationships with organizations and subcontractors.
• Reporting: Improve service and sales delivery, develop new programs, create reports on resource usage, project analysis, evaluate business opportunities, adapt systems to changing requirements.
• Staff Management & HR: Ensure service delivery efficiency, manage time-off, foster team building, exhibit leadership, maintain communication, contribute to business growth, uphold ethical practices.
• Longhurst Management Practices: Oversee internal operations supporting technical services, communicate with clients to ensure process alignment, recommend policies for organizational benefit.
