Dimensions

This position reports to the Dome Surface Mechanical Supervisor.

Purpose

The successful applicant will be competent in inspecting, repairing, and maintaining surface mobile mining equipment, working on structural, mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.

Essential Duties

1. Receive training in troubleshooting, disassembling, repairing, and performing predictive and preventive maintenance on surface mobile equipment.
2. Adjust equipment and replace defective parts, components, or systems using hand and power tools.
3. Test repaired equipment to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturer’s specifications.
4. Perform routine maintenance such as cleaning and lubricating equipment.
5. Service attachments and working tools like blades, ploughs, winches, and side booms.
6. Ensure compliance with OHSA, environmental regulations, safety, and sustainability standards.
7. Collaborate with team members to achieve organizational goals within and across departments.
8. Be highly motivated, organized, and capable of decision-making.
9. Provide own tools for work.
10. Assist in other work areas as required.

Training & Experience

1. Complete intermediate in-school training and 70% of required trade hours.
2. Experience maintaining surface mobile equipment such as loaders, trucks, drills, personnel carriers, and excavators.
3. Excellent communication, interpersonal, computer, and written skills.
4. Ability to organize work and motivate oneself.
5. Willingness to work collaboratively.
6. Technical competence in relevant areas.

Working Conditions

- Schedule: 5x5x4 work schedule.

- Location: At the Dome site near Timmins, ON. Relocation may be required if not residing nearby.
