Our client, the Quebec Professional Association of Real Estate Brokers (QPAREB), represents over 15,000 real estate brokers and agencies, accounting for more than 92% of professional real estate brokers. QPAREB’s mission is to support, train, inform, and defend the interests of its members, while promoting and developing the practice of real estate brokerage. It fulfills its mandate by taking into account the issues facing the profession and the various professional and regional realities of its members.
To successfully fulfill its mission, the QPAREB is seeking a General Counsel & Corporate Secretary.
In this newly created position, you will report to both the Board of Directors (for governance and secretarial matters) and to the President and CEO (for legal affairs). You will oversee three professionals, including two trained lawyers. Your role will be structured around two main areas, namely:
Are you a leader who excels at establishing new functions? Do you have ten or more years of experience in business law, including corporate secretariat and governance matters? If you are a member of the Quebec Bar and fluent in both French and English, we would love to hear from you. This position can be based on Nuns’ Island or in Quebec City, with the option to work remotely up to two days per week. For candidates based in Quebec City, please note that regular presence in Nuns’ Island will be required.
