This position reports to the Director of Pharmacy Operations and is responsible for receiving, preparing, and delivering Rx accurately and timely. Ensuring adequate inventory levels to meet patients’ needs, and counseling with appropriate documentation to all patients. Provide friendly, positive, and proactive interaction with all internal and external customers as well as create awareness and educate customers through public relations. Additionally, supervise and provide guidance and direction to staff, with accountability for the financial and operational success of the department.

What You'll Do
  1. Supervise and provide guidance and direction to staff
  2. Responsible for hiring and managing the performance of staff
  3. Accountable for the financial and operational success of the department
  4. Prepare, dispense, and control medications accurately and timely to patients
  5. Ensure medication and over-the-counter supplements inventory levels are adequate to meet patients’ needs
  6. Counsel patients regarding new and additional medications in a friendly, positive, and proactive manner
  7. Create awareness and educate customers through public relations (public health days, clinics, etc.)
  8. Provide timely and positive resolution to patients’ needs and doctors’ requests/issues
  9. Obtain and review budgeted sales and net contribution
  10. Identify and report sales opportunities both internally and externally
  11. Review and control costs at all levels within Loblaw Pharmacy (dispensary)
What you’ll need:
  • Bachelor of Science, Pharmacy, and a Class A Pharmacist license are required
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a retail environment
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong people management skills with the ability to motivate and coach others
  • Excellent customer service skills and a strong sense of professionalism
  • Proven ability to build the business using community-based marketing strategies
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including formulating and executing action plans
  • Strong personal computing skills, as well as knowledge of Healthwatch Pharmacy systems, are a definite asset
