Join Our Team as a Snowplow Operator - Highway Maintenance

LaPrairie Group of Companies is seeking Snowplow Operators for Highway Maintenance Operations based in Manning, AB. LaPrairie Works Inc. provides highway and bridge maintenance, civil construction, slope stabilization, erosion and drainage control, and environmental remediation services across Western Canada. We are recognized for innovation and environmental stewardship, managing long-term contracts within provincial and federal jurisdictions.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Operate spreader, plow wing, combo unit, or tow plow safely and efficiently to clear local roads as per contract requirements.
• Operate specialized winter equipment.
• Maintain equipment cleanliness and perform routine maintenance and minor repairs.
• Review route maps and application rates.
• Keep accurate records of hours of service, safety reports, and fuel usage.
• Follow HSE standards.
• Conduct pre- and post-inspection checks and log equipment status.
• Report equipment issues to the Foreman or Superintendent.
• Refill fuels and fluids, tracking these in logs.
• Prepare and submit required reports.
• Participate in ISO 9001:2015 Quality Assurance System compliance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

• Experience with off-road and winter driving.
• Experience in highway maintenance, including winter maintenance, surface repairs, and roadside/bridge maintenance.
• Ability to work day/night shifts and be on-call.
• Valid Class 1 or 3 driver’s license.
• Good driving record.
• First Aid Certification.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
