Job description

Our client is looking for a Labor Relations Specialist with at least three years of labour relations experience within a unionized environment.

Responsibilities :

Reporting to the HR Director, the Labour Relations Specialist will perform the following duties :

  • Provide support and guidance to ensure the consistency of the delivery of labour relations matters across the organization.
  • Promote and support the compliance and interpretation of policies, procedures and collective agreements.
  • Handle and initiate employee investigations and support the delivery of corporate HR programs, policies and initiatives.
  • Identify the needs and concerns of the employees and provide labour relations support through coaching, guidance and advice to leaders regarding best practices.
  • Support leaders on all issues raised including collective agreement interpretation, policy and procedure implementation.

Qualifications :

  • University Degree in Human Resources, Labour Relations or related discipline and / or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • CPHR Designation preferred.
  • Experience with collective agreement interpretation and best practices, grievance procedure discussions / resolutions.
  • Analytical, problem-solving skills and critical thinking.
