Job Description

ADGA is hiring a full-time Senior Satellite Communication Systems Advisor to assist in managing large-scale Space and Satellite Communication projects for our Defence client.

The Senior Satellite Communication Systems Advisor will perform tasks including:

1. Review, analyze, and provide recommendations on space system interface documentation.
2. Compose operational space system deficiency and requirements documentation.
3. Produce and present concise monthly reports summarizing all technical progress to stakeholders and vendors/contractors.
4. Provide technical input to project plans, including test, integration, and schedules.
5. Review, analyze, and recommend on space system engineering documents such as CDRLs, RIDs, plans, standards, and specifications.
6. Develop test plans for prototypes and full system tests.
7. Create and review SOWs related to Space, satellite communications, and telecommunications.
8. Provide input on the full life-cycle cost of proposed Space Systems.
9. Recommend satellite communication solutions based on analysis of discrepancies and changes.
10. Liaise with DND and stakeholder engineering groups to ensure space system integrity, performance, reliability, and maintainability.
11. Provide space system integration and analysis services.
12. Conduct design, technical, and management reviews of designs and documents.
13. Oversee space system integration testing and evaluation.
14. Manage system test and evaluation plans and report results.
15. Analyze deficiencies and recommend solutions.
16. Review industry documentation for suitability.
17. Conduct technical studies and options analyses for space systems.

Qualifications

• An Engineering or Science degree from a recognized Canadian university or an accredited foreign degree.
• A diploma or certificate (minimum two years) in Information Management/Technology from a recognized college, or licensed as a Professional Engineer in Canada.
• Minimum of ten years of experience as a Satellite Communication Specialist within the last twenty years.
• At least five years of recent experience in writing technical project documentation for satellite communications projects valued at $5M or more.
• At least five years of recent project management experience in procurement, approvals, construction, commissioning, or contract administration.
• At least five years of recent experience in integrating and testing spacecraft communications at both subsystem and system levels.
