Job description

ADGA is hiring a full-time Senior Satellite Communication Systems Advisor to assist in managing large-scale Space and Satellite Communication projects for our Defence client.

Responsibilities:

1. Review, analyze, and recommend on space system interface documentation.
2. Compose operational space system deficiency and requirements documentation.
3. Produce and present concise monthly reports summarizing all technical progress to stakeholders and vendors/contractors.
4. Provide technical input to project plans, including plans (test and integration), drawings, and schedules.
5. Review and analyze space system engineering documents such as CDRLs, RIDs, standards, and specifications.
6. Develop test plans for prototypes and full tests.
7. Create and review SOWs related to Space, satellite communications, and telecommunications.
8. Provide input on the full lifecycle cost of proposed Space Systems.
9. Recommend satellite communication solutions based on analysis of discrepancies and deficiencies.
10. Liaise with DND and stakeholder engineering groups to ensure system integrity, performance, reliability, and maintainability.
11. Conduct design, technical, and management reviews of designs and documents.
12. Oversee space system integration testing and evaluation.
13. Manage system test and evaluation plans and report results.
14. Analyze deficiencies and recommend solutions.
15. Review industry documentation for suitability.
16. Conduct technical studies and options analyses for space systems.

Qualifications:

• Engineering or Science degree from a recognized Canadian university or an accredited non-Canadian degree.
• Alternatively, a diploma or certificate in Information Management/Technology from a recognized college.
• Licensed Professional Engineer in Canada.
• Minimum of ten years of experience as a Satellite Communication Specialist within the last twenty years.
• At least five years of experience in technical documentation for satellite communication projects valued at $5M or more within the last ten years.
• Minimum five years of project management experience in procurement, approvals, construction, or contract administration within the last ten years.
• At least five years of experience in integrating and testing spacecraft communications at subsystem and system levels within the last ten years.
