Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, the incumbent Accounting Manager will supervise workers and tasks in the organization's accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll functions. They will monitor the work done to calculate amounts owed or due, to receive or distribute invoices or bills, to maintain records of payments to or from the organization and they will investigate and correct errors and discrepancies, working with either directly in the ERP system or with IT Technical Support to make system corrections. The incumbent will assist the Finance team in covering the reception and accounts receivable and payable duties as needed during staff absences.
- Solicit input to prepare annual operating budgets for review and approval by the Board, working with either the Executive or external consultants as necessary.
- Maintain and update monthly and yearly cash-flow forecasting and alert the Executive as to sufficient liquidity for the company’s ongoing operations and growth activities.
- Supporting the annual capital budget process by gathering information, compiling data, and analyzing trends.
- Maintaining and updating the equipment asset listing in the G / L, including completion of additions and disposals for accurate financial reporting.
- Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate the annual audit process and ensure timely financial statement preparation and review.
- Compile the monthly banking compliance packages.
- Comply with local, provincial, and federal government reporting requirements and GST / PST, T4 and T4A tax filings.
- Prepare monthly bank account reconciliations and other period and year-end financial working papers.
- Provide monthly variance analysis of actuals to budgeted as part of the financial reporting package.
- Supervise the Finance team in their day-to-day work, providing guidance and conducting basic forensic audits to resolve errors and discrepancies.
- Assist in creating and maintaining Key Performance Indicator reports and providing value-added analysis.
- Assist in creating financial models to improve operational budgeting and sensitivity analysis, working with either the Executive or external consultants as necessary.
- Calculate and process employee salaries, wages, bonuses, commissions, and other compensation accurately and on time.
- Payroll & Benefits duties and processing
- Ensure payroll compliance with provincial and federal employment standards, tax regulations, and other relevant legislation.
- Verify and process changes to employee payroll records, such as new hires, terminations, personal information changes, promotions, direct deposit details, and deductions.
- Working with supervisors, validate and reconcile attendance records and other relevant data to ensure accuracy in payroll calculations.
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other deductions, working with the provider as necessary.
- Working with the provider, educate employees about their benefits.
- Provide occasional coverage for accounts payable and accounts receivable as needed.
- Adhere to established company policies, procedures, and standards (written or implied), and any changes or modifications which may vary from time to time as deemed appropriate.
Knowledge & Qualifications :
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Basic familiarity with forensic accounting methods.
- Strong work ethic and analytical skills
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of applications.
- Knowledge of Epicor Prophet21 software an asset.
Education & Experience :
- CPA or comparable accounting designation required.
- 3 years related professional experience required.
- 1-2 years experience managing and mentoring an accounting team required.
- Capability in managing financial reporting requirements and assisting in the design of relevant reports for management required.

Salary Range of $90,000 to $100,000 per annum based on experience and qualifications.
