Job summary

AtkinsRéalis Canada Inc. seeks a Director of Fire Protection Engineering to lead and grow the Eastern Canada practice, delivering complex fire protection and life safety projects with a national network of experts.

Based in Montréal or Québec City, you will guide strategy, client relationships, and project execution, while mentoring teams and ensuring high technical standards and client satisfaction across multi‑discipline initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (Building Systems Engineering preferred).
• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) and member in good standing of the OIQ.
• Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant consulting engineering experience in fire protection and life safety.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian fire protection codes and standards (NFPA, ULC, building and fire codes).
• Proven ability to lead technical teams, develop staff, and foster a high‑performance culture.
• Experience in business development, client relationships, and growth of a professional practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for the Eastern Canada Fire Protection team and market development.
• Lead or support strategic proposals and client presentations.
• Mentor and manage resources across projects and collaborate with cross‑regional teams.
• Oversee design and integration of fire protection and life safety systems.
• Ensure quality, compliance, and timely delivery of deliverables.
• Collaborate nationally to share expertise and grow the practice.
