Job summary

The Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada - Science and Technology Branch is offering a MSc or PhD Geomatics Analyst position through the Research Affiliate Program. You will assist with data analysis of Earth Observation data for agricultural monitoring and contribute to modeling efforts across Canada.

The role is based in Canada, with positions at various AAFC locations. Students must be enrolled full-time in a relevant program, report for a start date of October 1, 2026, and work 15–20 hours per

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in master's or doctoral program in a field related to remote sensing, GIS, geography, or environmental science.
• Must maintain full-time student status and be returning to studies after the term.
• Experience with geospatial data for agricultural or environmental applications is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with data analysis and processing of Earth Observation data for quantitative agricultural monitoring and modelling.
• Develop procedures for modeling and simulations using spatial data across study sites in Canada.
