Job Description

Belonging. WSP is currently seeking a Junior Geotechnical Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to join our Geotechnical Team based in our Prince George and Terrace offices.

As a Junior Geotechnical EIT, you will support intermediate and senior geotechnical engineers on a variety of projects throughout Yukon Territory, British Columbia, and beyond. Our professionals offer leadership, mentoring, and development opportunities in various geotechnical practice areas.

The position may involve significant time out of town on field assignments.

A day in the life…

• Providing technical services in field and office environments
• Assisting in materials-related projects, including field testing of materials on construction sites and in-situ density testing
• Carrying out laboratory testing in our CCIL certified materials laboratory in Prince George
• Performing site reconnaissance, inspections, and observations
• Conducting fieldwork such as subsurface investigations, supervising drill rigs/excavators, logging boreholes/test pits, site surveying, sampling, and preparing site sketches
• Using specialized equipment and software for analysis, reporting, and technical drawings
• Summarizing investigation and lab testing findings for reports
• Collaborating with regional teams across various disciplines

What You'll Bring To WSP…

• Degree or equivalent in Geotechnical/Civil Engineering
• Enjoys fieldwork and autonomous work style
• Access to a vehicle, a clean Driver’s Abstract, proficiency in MS Office
• Experience with active construction sites is an asset
• Strong report writing and communication skills
• 0-3 years relevant experience in geotechnical/geological engineering
• Desire to work for a leading global firm and be part of a growing team

Compensation

Salary range (BC): $61,600 - $84,700/year. Final salary depends on education, experience, skills, location, and organizational needs. The range may change for business reasons.
