Job summary

UPS Canada is looking for part-time Package Pre-loaders to operate from the Nanaimo Package Facility. Shifts run 4:00 AM to 9:00 AM, Monday through Friday, at Madsen Rd, Nanaimo BC. Duties include unloading/loading packages, lifting 10–70 lbs, and scanning by ZIP codes.

Candidates will undergo interviews and background checks; training is provided, with weekly pay starting at $18.50/hour and opportunities for tuition reimbursement and wage progression.

Qualifications

• Able to lift packages 10–70 lbs unassisted.
• Available to work Monday to Friday.
• Follow safety and standard procedures.
• Able to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

• Unload and load packages off and on trailers, air canisters, and other vehicles early in the morning.
• Lift, lower, and move packages weighing between 10 to 70 lbs.
• Scan and sort packages based on postal codes, addresses, and dimensions.
• Understand and recognize postal codes, routing charts and maps.
• Work closely with conveyor, roller belts and other warehouse equipment.
• Collaborate in a team to ensure efficient transfer of packages.

UPS is currently looking for Part-time Package Pre-loaders to work from our Nanaimo Package Facility.

• Position Title: Pre-loaders
• Position Type: Permanent Part-time
• Work Hours: 4** :00AM – 9:00AM***
• Workdays: Monday to Friday*
• Location: Madsen Rd, Nanaimo BC

*Shift schedules may vary based on operational requirements

Preloaders are responsible for unloading and loading packages off and on trailers, air canisters and other vehicles early in the morning. Other responsibilities may include:

• Lifting, lowering, and moving of packages weighing between 10 to 70lbs.
• Scanning and sorting packages based on postal codes, addresses, package dimensions
• Understanding and recognizing postal codes, routing charts and maps
• Standing closely with conveyor, roller belts and other equipment in the warehouse
• Working in a team environment to ensure efficient transfer of packages.

Qualifications

• Available to work Monday to Friday*
• Ability to follow set of safety and standard procedures;
• Good organizational and multi-tasking skills
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced and physically demanding work environment;
• Able to regularly and safely lift packages between 10-lbs up to 70-lbs unassisted;
• Must be comfortable working in a warehouse environment.
• Warehouse experience is considered an asset but not required.
