Job summary

Our Lady of the Assumption School in Lethbridge is seeking a part-time Early Learning Education Assistant to support young learners in a CUPE 1825 environment. The role is 14 hours per week, with start as soon as possible and ending June 10, 2027.

The successful candidate will hold Hanen certification, have experience in childhood education or with special needs, and be able to work with a Speech Language Pathologist to support language, behaviour, and daily living skills in a collaborative,

Qualifications

• Hanen Learning Language and Loving It Certification.
• At least one-year experience in Childhood Program and/or with children with special needs.
• Experience with proactive positive intervention with child’s behaviours.
• Provide supports and cues for sound production as directed by the Speech Language Pathologist.
• Match activities and model appropriate behaviours at child’s functioning level.
• Has or is willing to gain First Aid Training.
• Positions may require providing assistance with toileting and other daily living skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a trans-disciplinary team and take direction from professionals.

EARLY LEARNING EDUCATION ASSISTANT – Our Lady of the Assumption School

We are looking to hire a temporary 14.0 hour per week (AM) Early Learning Education Assistant at Our Lady of the Assumption School in Lethbridge. This assignment is to commence as soon as possible and terminate June 10, 2027. This position is covered by the CUPE 1825 Support Staff collective agreement. Please quote Posting #4078377.

To be considered for this position candidates must possess or be willing to gain the following skills:

• Hanen Learning Language and Loving It Certification;
• At least one-year experience working in Childhood Program and/or with children with special needs;

• Is able to provide supports and cues for sound production as directed by the Speech Language Pathologist;
• Is able to match activities and model appropriate behaviours at child's functioning level;
