Job summary

City of Thunder Bay is seeking an Early Childhood Educator II for Woodcrest to oversee planned and everyday activities for children in the care centre. This full-time role involves implementing developmentally appropriate programs and maintaining a well-equipped centre.

Qualifications include a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and knowledge of the Ontario Child Care and Early Years Act. PVSC, First Aid, Safe Food Handling, immunization records, and College of ECE membership are required.

Qualifications

• Diploma in early childhood education or equivalent.
• Knowledge of the Ontario Child Care and Early Years Act.

Responsibilities

• Directs and participates with planned and routine activities.
• Plans and implements developmentally appropriate learning activities/programs based on the holistic development of all children.
• Maintains an orderly, tidy and fully equipped Centre by ensuring materials are available and requests for replacements and repairs are made when necessary.
• Participates in staff and parent meetings, special events and works with outside agencies.
• Participates in orientation of new staff and students.
• Completes forms required for statistical data.
• Performs such other related duties as may be assigned.
