Job summary

Tla'am Child Development Resource Centre, operating within the Tla'am Nation on the Sunshine Coast, is seeking Casual On Call Early Childhood Educators II and III to support developmentally appropriate programs for children 0-6. The role involves team-based activities, daily routines, and engaging with families. Candidates should have an ECE credential, a clean vulnerable sector check, and up-to-date First Aid/CPR.

B.C. Driver's license and Food Safe certification are assets.

Qualifications

• Completion of a recognized Early Childhood Education program.
• Successful Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector screening.
• Indigenous ancestry preferred; knowledge of local culture a plus.
• First Aid and CPR certification required or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Plans, prepares, and carries out developmentally appropriate programs and activities.
• Works as a team player in implementing daily activities – art, songs, games, stories etc.
• Conducts activities with children on an individual and group basis.
• Follows assigned duties related to the daily routines (outdoor play, snack/lunch, rest time, toileting, etc.).
• Supports cultural aspects of programming and employs ʔayʔaǰuθəm words and phrases to the best of their ability.
• Maintains constant supervision of the children in indoor/outdoor activities.
