Responsibilities

• Develop and implement child-care programs that support the development of children.
• Lead activities by reading stories, singing, games, and creative expression.
• Plan and maintain a safe, healthy learning environment for children.
• Assess abilities and discuss progress with parents and staff.
• Observe children for learning or behavior concerns and report to parents or supervisor.
• Guide children in eating, dressing and toilet routines.
• Establish collaborative relationships with coworkers and community service providers.
• May plan activities for school-age children before/after school hours.
• May supervise and coordinate activities of other educators and assistants.
• Classroom maintenance and light cleaning duties.
