Job summary

UPS in Victoria BC is hiring Part-time Early Morning Preloaders for the Victoria Package Centre Operations. The role runs Monday to Friday with a 4:00AM - 9:00AM shift and includes full training, weekly pay and various benefits.

Preloaders unload, sort, scan and load packages, operate conveyor belts and trailers, and support drivers by preparing packages for delivery. This position offers wage progression and a stable part-time schedule.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow set and standard procedures.
• Regularly lift up to 70-lbs (32-kg) unassisted.
• Maneuver packages up to 150-lbs (68-kg) unassisted.
• Able to work with automated conveyor belts and manual rollers.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically demanding warehouse environment.
• Comfortable working inside container trailers, delivery trucks or similar equipment.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Good organizational and multi-tasking skills.
• Must be able to work with and recognize postal codes, routing charts and maps.

Responsibilities

• Unload, sort, scan and load packages in the center.
• Move a variety of packages and process these efficiently for the drivers to deliver.
• Preloaders work with conveyor belts, rollers inside trailers, cargo containers and package cars.

UPS is currently looking for Part-time Early Morning Preloaders within our Victoria Package Centre Operations .

• Job Location: Unit 200 – 770 Enterprise Crescent, Victoria BC
• Work days: Monday - Fridays*
• Scheduled Shift: 4:00AM - 9:00AM*

Preloaders will be required to work five days a week with slight changes in shift hours. Shift hours can vary due to the changes in package volume. Regular public transit may not be available for the area during the early morning hours.*

Preloaders are responsible for the unloading, sorting, scanning and loading of packages in the center. They move a variety of packages and they process these efficiently for the drivers to deliver.

Preloaders work in a physically-demanding and fast-paced warehouse environment. They will continually lift, lower and slide packages for the duration of their shifts. They work with conveyor and roller belts, inside the trailers, cargo containers and package cars.

Required Skills
