Job summary

UPS Canada is seeking Pre-loaders for a permanent role at Madsen Rd, Nanaimo BC. Shift is 4:00 AM–9:00 AM, Monday to Friday, with packages unloading/loading and scanning based on postal codes. You will handle 10–70 lb items and work near conveyors in a team environment.

The position offers weekly pay at $18.50/hour, tuition reimbursement up to $2000/semester, guaranteed wage progression, extended benefits, and opportunities for internal advancement.

Qualifications

• Follow safety and standard procedures; good organizational and multitasking skills.
• Able to regularly and safely lift packages between 10–70 lbs unassisted.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced and physically demanding warehouse environment.
• Warehouse experience is an asset but not required.
• All candidates must go through interviews, background and reference checks.

Responsibilities

• Unload and load packages off and on trailers and conveyors.
• Lift, lower and move packages weighing 10 to 70 lbs.
• Scan and sort packages by postal codes, addresses and dimensions.
• Work closely with conveyor systems, rollers and other equipment.
• Collaborate in a team environment to ensure efficient transfer of packages.

Position Details

• Position Title: Pre‑loaders

• Work Hours: 4:00AM – 9:00AM*

• Shift schedules may vary based on operational requirements

Responsibilities

• Preloaders are responsible for unloading and loading packages off and on trailers, air canisters and other vehicles early in the morning.
• Lifting, lowering, and moving of packages weighing between 10 to 70lbs.
• Scanning and sorting packages based on postal codes, addresses, package dimensions.
• Understanding and recognizing postal codes, routing charts and maps.
• Standing closely with conveyor, roller belts and other equipment in the warehouse.
• Working in a team environment to ensure efficient transfer of packages.

• Must be comfortable working in a warehouse environment.
