Neonatologist

Position: Regular Full-Time (1.0 FTE)

The Division of Neonatology at the Department of Pediatrics, UBC, in collaboration with the Children's and Women's Health Centre of BC, invites applications for the position of Neonatologist.


The NICU, housed in the newly opened BC C&W Teck Acute Care Centre, is one of Canada's largest and busiest, featuring 70 single-family rooms. It serves as a quaternary referral centre for BC and is a leader in healthcare, education, and research. The Division supports various pediatric subspecialties, including surgical specialties and ECLS, and is recognized internationally for excellence in clinical care, education, and research, with a focus on family-centered care, neonatal follow-up, and other specialized areas.


The team includes 12 Neonatologists, 22 Clinical Associate Pediatricians, 15 Neonatal Fellows, and 3 Nurse Practitioners. The division emphasizes quality improvement and innovative neonatal care models to enhance safety, outcomes, and patient/family experiences. It also offers a Royal College-accredited Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine fellowship program.


The Neonatologists share clinical service lines involving antenatal counselling, resuscitation, complex infant care, and provincial neonatal transport in partnership with BC Emergency Health Services and the Infant Transport Team.


This role is ideal for a physician aiming to develop an academic career while working in a busy NICU. Candidates should have completed or be eligible for the Royal College examinations in Pediatrics, completed recognized Neonatology training, and be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC.


Qualifications

The successful candidate will be appointed to the Division of Neonatology at BC Children's and Women's Hospital and recommended for a faculty position in UBC's Department of Pediatrics. Salary and rank will reflect experience and qualifications.
