Job Description: Service Technician at Brandt

Brandt is currently seeking a Service Technician for our Stoney Creek Construction & Forestry location, with multiple shifts available.

This role involves the repair and maintenance of construction and forestry-based equipment and attachments in a shop environment.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, assemble/disassemble, order parts for, and repair heavy-duty equipment efficiently and effectively.
• Ensure safe and efficient use of secondary materials and equipment.
• Utilize instruments, hand and power tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems.
• Document all work details accurately on work orders, including actions taken and time spent.
• Assess hazards continually and perform work safely according to standards.
• Use computer applications (e.g., John Deere Service Advisor) for maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis documentation.
• Use parts catalogues to locate and order parts as needed.
• Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required.

Required Skills

• Evaluate, diagnose, assemble/disassemble, and repair heavy-duty machinery effectively.
• Operate hoisting devices for positioning machinery and parts during repairs.
• Perform routine maintenance, including cleaning and lubricating machinery.
• Inspect, diagnose, and repair malfunctioning machinery and equipment.
• Prepare electronic inspection and service reports.
• Use parts catalogues and order parts from parts personnel.
• Perform road tests and check attachment operations.
• Other duties as required.

Required Experience

• Previous mechanical experience in a heavy equipment environment is preferred.
• Certified Journeyperson in the Heavy Duty Equipment technician trade or equivalent is preferred.
• Experience with electrical diagnosis, troubleshooting, and aftertreatment systems is an asset.
• Must be committed to customer service and service excellence.
