Your Role

As an HSE Advisor reporting to the Plant Manager at the Tilbury Plant, you will ensure the implementation and maintenance of health, safety, and environmental standards. Your responsibilities include:

  1. Supporting ISO 45001/OHSAS 18001 planning, procedures, work instructions, and audits
  2. Managing environmental and waste control in accordance with ISO standards, including waste reduction initiatives
  3. Planning and executing actions to enhance environmental standards
  4. Identifying HSE training needs in collaboration with HR, considering legislation and company policies
  5. Leading emergency response teams, safety committees, and developing HSE reports
  6. Collaborating with management, engineering, HR, unions, and contractors on HSE matters
  7. Investigating incidents and implementing corrective actions
  8. Conducting safety sign-offs for new or modified equipment
  9. Maintaining HSE communication with employees
  10. Managing contractor programs and compliance
  11. Reporting on health, safety, and environmental performance
  12. Identifying and mitigating risks
  13. Ensuring compliance with legislative requirements (MOL, MOE, WSIB, municipal regulations)
  14. Managing injury prevention, incident reporting, WSIB claims, and cost management
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Human Resources, or Business from an accredited institution
  • At least 5 years of professional HSE experience in manufacturing
  • Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) certification
  • Knowledge of OHSAS 18001, ISO 45001, and IATF 16949 standards
