Position Overview : We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our engineering initiatives, focusing on developing and managing partnerships with external engineering firms, overseeing project execution, and mentoring our internal engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering background coupled with extensive project execution experience across various industries.
Key Responsibilities :
- External Partnerships : Develop and maintain partnerships with external engineering firms, creating a reliable network of pre-qualified vendors to enhance internal capabilities and scale project execution. This includes evaluating, selecting, and managing these partners based on performance, expertise, and cost-effectiveness.
- Project Management : Oversee external engineering partnerships, encompassing project design, procurement, execution (including Health, Safety, and Environmental compliance), and continuous planning / improvement, ensuring projects meet quality, safety, budget, and schedule requirements.
- Team Leadership : Mentor and provide guidance to a small internal team of engineers and technical specialists, sharing relevant experience to foster professional growth and technical excellence.
- Technical Support : Offer technical support for troubleshooting and problem-solving, leveraging expertise to resolve complex engineering challenges effectively.
- Business Development Support : Collaborate with the business development team as needed, providing technical insights and support to drive growth and project acquisition.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (electrical is preferred)
- Professional Engineer P.Eng license
- Minimum of 10+ years of experience in engineering management, with significant and varied project execution experience.
- Proven experience in developing and managing external engineering partnerships.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with experience leading small to medium-sized engineering teams.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and technical troubleshooting skills.
- Strong understanding of project management principles, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders.
Preferred Skills :
- Experience in Project management preferably in an Oil & Gas or EPC environment.
- Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements in engineering projects.
