Canadian Tax Filing Delivery Manager

Job Description

The role involves overseeing and managing the daily administration of tax filing delivery for assigned legal entities, including the distribution of tax remittances according to jurisdiction guidelines. The manager will handle client delivery across Tax Filing Shared Services, manage client accounts to prevent escalations, and develop colleagues in tax filing knowledge and client-facing delivery.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  1. Ensuring overall client satisfaction in Canadian tax filing services.
  2. Supporting and resolving client escalations promptly and accurately.
  3. Monitoring and auditing tasks to identify trends and process improvements.
  4. Developing and communicating root cause analyses and supporting downstream improvements.
  5. Leading process improvement initiatives in tax filing.
  6. Collaborating with other domains to ensure deliverables and process enhancements.
  7. Communicating with clients about complex issues and providing timely responses.
  8. Representing TFSS in client meetings and providing updates and education on tax filing processes.
  9. Researching compliance and regulatory issues and facilitating escalations.
  10. Analyzing metrics to drive improvements and close process gaps.
  11. Educating and coaching team members and clients on tax filing topics.
  12. Liaising with client and payroll teams regarding tax filing matters.
  13. Mentoring colleagues and managing performance.
  14. Providing training for new staff and processes.
  15. Supporting SOP development, communication, and updates.
  16. Overseeing delivery operations, including suppliers, to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  17. Testing interfaces and analyzing variances for escalation.
  18. Reviewing bank setups and monitoring agency registration statuses.
  19. Communicating penalty and interest reports to clients.
  20. Supporting testing and onboarding of new clients.
  21. Applying tax knowledge and problem-solving skills.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma required; relevant work experience essential.
  • At least 5 years of experience in Canadian payroll tax filing or related fields.
  • Advanced understanding of payroll, tax, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Minimum of 2 years of client interaction and management experience.
  • At least 3 years of people management experience.
  • Strong computer skills with current technical knowledge.
  • Over 2 years of experience with Payroll Tax Filing Software.
