Role Overview

The IT Administrator applies technical and operational knowledge to deliver effective IT services that meet the day-to-day needs of Diversicare Canada Management Services Co., Inc. (30 retirement homes, 1 head office, and 1 regional office) and DCMS Realty.


The IT Administrator provides Microsoft cloud services, Wi-Fi, network/firewall, and desktop troubleshooting, along with special projects rollout. He/she works closely with other IT team members to set implementation procedures and standards.


The IT Administrator travels extensively to perform onsite support, rollout activities, site surveys, document business requirements from business representatives and vendors, and provide status reports as determined by the project team. He/she also collaborates with the outsourced remote helpdesk as an escalation point for onsite break/fix issues.


Reporting to the National Director of IT, you will work with the project team for implementations, documentation, and post-rollout support.


Qualifications

  • College or university graduate or 5 years of hands-on experience in a related technology discipline.
  • Experience working with ticketing systems.
  • Experience administering Microsoft 365 Admin centers (Security, Compliance, Intune, Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, etc.).
  • Strategic thinker and problem-solver.
  • Strong organization and time management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines and produce results.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to conduct research and analyze technology.
Key Responsibilities
  • Understanding of Microsoft 365 (SharePoint, Outlook/OWA, Teams, OneDrive).
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and process automation.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure Security Center (MFA, Conditional Access, Compliance, and Identity).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Defender.
  • Proficiency in administrative tasks in Microsoft Intune (mobile device management).
  • Perform installation, configuration, patching, troubleshooting, moves, and decommissioning of PCs.
  • Implement cybersecurity best practices and training.
  • Maintain IT asset inventory.
  • Administer Meraki firewalls, routers, switches, Wi-Fi, cameras, etc.
  • Promote operational effectiveness through end-user training of new technologies.
  • Troubleshoot IT issues reported by users, including password resets and network connectivity issues.
  • Maintain technical documentation for systems.
  • Follow change control procedures.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and respond to outages.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the GTA and across Canada.
General
  • Comply with relevant health and safety legislation and policies.
  • Complete mandatory training and education.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
