Role Overview

The IT Administrator applies technical and operational knowledge to deliver effective IT services that meet the daily needs of Diversicare Canada Management Services Co., Inc, which includes 30 retirement homes, 1 head office, and 1 regional office. The role involves providing Microsoft cloud services, WIFI, network/firewall support, desktop troubleshooting, and special project rollouts. The IT Administrator works closely with the IT team to set implementation procedures and standards.

This position requires extensive travel for onsite support, site surveys, business requirements documentation, and coordination with vendors and remote helpdesk teams. The role reports to the National Director of Information Technology and involves working with project teams on implementations, documentation, and post-rollout support.

Qualifications
  • College or university degree or 5 years of hands-on experience in a related technology field
  • Experience with ticketing systems
  • Experience managing Microsoft 365 Admin centers (Security, Compliance, Intune, Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, etc.)
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Quick learner of new technologies
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Research and analysis skills related to technology
Key Responsibilities
  • Managing Microsoft 365 services (SharePoint, Outlook/OWA, Teams, OneDrive)
  • Handling PowerShell scripting and process automation
  • Managing Microsoft Azure Security Center (MFA, Conditional Access, Compliance, Identity)
  • Using Microsoft Defender
  • Administering Microsoft Intune (mobile device management)
  • Installing, configuring, patching, troubleshooting, moving, and decommissioning PCs
  • Implementing cybersecurity best practices and training
  • Maintaining IT asset inventory
  • Managing Meraki firewalls, routers, switches, WIFI, cameras, etc.
  • Promoting operational effectiveness through end-user training
  • Troubleshooting user-reported IT issues
  • Maintaining technical documentation
  • Following change control procedures
  • Participating in on-call rotations for system outages
  • Traveling extensively within the GTA and across Canada as needed
