Spirit Edmonton is hiring for the position of Industrial Catalyst Exchanger Cleaning. Accommodations and travel are provided ASAP.
Responsibilities
- Operate, understand, and calibrate gas detection equipment used by Corporate.
- Perform and supervise the rig up / rig down of all life support, vacuum, conveyor, and loading equipment at the top deck.
- Serve as the High Angle Rescue Team Leader, ensuring the safety of all entry personnel during vessel entry.
- Maintain proper housekeeping on the vessel's top deck, manage equipment use, and ensure safety standards.
- Perform donning, doffing, lock down, and inspection of V.E.T.'s PPE and Lock on Life Support systems or other respiratory equipment prior to and after entry.
- Maintain communication with V.E.T.'s, Ground Foreman, and Console Operator during vessel entry, supervising all vessel activities.
- Ensure proper permitting, lock out / tag out procedures, verification, and adherence to the blind list instructions.
- Participate in health and safety meetings, safety communication, planning, and hazard assessments.
- Maintain current Inert Entry Rescue Specialist certification and meet all VET position requirements.
- Work collaboratively with clients, co-workers, and supervisors.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as an Inert Entry Rescue Specialist.
- Minimum Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
- Safety-focused attitude with experience in industrial settings.
- Strong organizational and cleanliness skills.
- Good health and physical condition to perform assigned duties.
- Ability to enter confined spaces and wear respirators and breathing helmets.
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Willingness and ability to travel for extended periods and work 10-12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and out of town.
- Ability to access client sites, which may require clearance of drug and alcohol screening.
Note: Must have experience working in confined spaces with nitrogen.
