Position Summary

The Senior Deployment Manager leads the development and delivery of utility-scale energy storage solutions globally, focusing on BESS capable of fast response to grid commands. The role requires expertise in power systems, utility communication protocols, and battery technologies, with responsibilities spanning technical requirements, testing, and cross-department collaboration.

Management Responsibilities

1. Establish procedures and systems to drive operational changes.
2. Delegate tasks and empower team members.
3. Build partnerships with vendors and internal teams.
4. Mentor new recruits and foster team growth.
5. Implement continuous improvement processes.
6. Conduct performance assessments and recognize achievements.
7. Supervise work quality, timelines, and budgets.
8. Develop tools and collaborate with stakeholders for process enhancements.

Product Development & Qualification

1. Execute technical strategies aligned with organizational goals.
2. Lead evaluations of technologies and frameworks.
3. Translate business needs into technical solutions.
4. Draft and negotiate technical requirements for BESS plant controllers.
5. Manage stakeholders, utilities, and suppliers for controller design and delivery.
6. Verify testing and commissioning of plant controls.

Required Experience

• Minimum 15 years in solar PV or battery energy storage controls.
• Experience with power grid, generation, and renewable integration control.
• Knowledge of utility market applications and power system modeling tools.
• Expertise in model-based control software and Linux command-line.
• Proficiency in scripting (Python, Batch), databases, and automated testing tools.
• Experience with Azure and AWS cloud platforms.

Personal Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 15+ years in a similar managerial role within energy storage or related industry.
• Strong project management, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience in controls software for utility-scale PV or battery systems.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%, including internationally.
